Eric Bologa was named the 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on Wednesday afternoon by the league office to cap off a splendid season that included All-America honors in two events.
Bologa finished sixth in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles at the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, running a time of 52.21 seconds to mark the second straight year he has achieved All-America honors in the event. He also won the PSAC title in the event for the second straight year, running a school-record time of 52.01 seconds.
Additionally, Bologa served as the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that also claimed All-America honors at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships. SU's relay placed sixth in a time of 3:10.74, an effort that is less than a full second off the all-time PSAC record set a year ago on which Bologa also ran as the opening leg.
Bologa completed a storied career at Shippensburg with 10 PSAC place-winning performances (15 when including relays) and three NCAA outdoor championships appearances.
