Tau Kappa’s “Project Prom Dress” Event Raises More Than $1,000 for Randi’s House of Angels

SU’s women’s athletics honors sorority continues to succeed in its charitable efforts

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University chapter of Tau Kappa, women's athletics honors sorority, raised more than $1,000 at its Saturday "Project Prom Dress" event.

All of the proceeds from Saturday's event will be donated to Randi's House of Angels in honor of Karlie Hall, a Millersville University student who passed away earlier this year.

Tau Kappa's event, now in its fifth year, is designed to make it easier for local teen girls to attend their high school formals by lessening their financial burden.

This year, Tau Kappa sold 57 dresses, six pairs of shoes, 14 pieces of jewelry, and one purse for a total of $1,047 to be donated to Randi's House of Angels.

In five years, Tau Kappa has raised more than $3500 for various local charities.
