The No. 4 Shippensburg University field hockey team used a first-half goal from junior
Katelyn Grazan to overcome host Slippery Rock on Tuesday, posting a 1-0 victory over The Rock in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Shippensburg (9-4, 4-3 PSAC) got its goal 25 minutes into the match, as Grazan scored her fifth goal of the year off an assist from junior
Cassie Rawa.
Slippery Rock (5-9, 2-5) got nine saves from its goalkeeper, Carlee DuMars, along with two defensive saves. SU out-shot The Rock 7-0 in the second half and posted a 12-3 advantage overall in shots on goal. The Raiders also had eight corners to SRU's three.

Taylor Webster made three saves for her fourth solo shutout of the season and the team's fifth overall in 2015.
Shippensburg hosts Messiah at 6 p.m. Thursday in a non-league match at Robb Sports Complex.
