The Shippensburg University field hockey team defeated Southern Connecticut State on Sunday morning, 6-0, in its final game of the Dora Metrelis Classic from Jess Dow Field.
 
The Raiders (2-0) did not allow an opposing shot attempt for the second straight game as they out-shot Southern Connecticut 38-0 and held a 14-1 advantage in penalty corners. SU now has a 63-0 advantage in shots through its first two games of the 2014 season.
 
For the Owls (1-1), goalkeeper Audrey Dolloff made 23 saves.
 
Senior Tori Ricker registered her first career hat trick while freshmen Emily Barnard and Madison Scarr each added one goal and one assist.
 
Senior Ari Saytar and freshman Lizzie Frombach contributed one goal apiece. Senior Lucy Kauffman notched one assist.
 
SU hosts No. 1 Millersville on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in its home opener from Robb Sports Complex.
