SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team dropped its regular season finale Wednesday evening to Millersville, 74-63, on Senior Night from inside Heiges Field House to claim the No. 3 seed in the PSAC East and the rights to a PSAC First Round home game on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders (17-9, 11-5 PSAC) will host No. 6 seed Kutztown (9-17, 6-10) on Saturday at 1 p.m. from Heiges with the winner advancing to Tuesday's PSAC Quarterfinals.

Millersville (15-11, 10-6) earned the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seed East Stroudsburg (14-12, 9-7) in the other PSAC Eastern Division First Round matchup.

Senior Sarah Strybuc scored 20 points and went 4-for-10 from three-point range while PSAC Freshman of the Week Morgan Griffith recorded her 10th double-double of the season by scoring 16 points and collecting 10 rebounds. She hit a career-high three three-pointers and added three assists.

The Raiders trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half but went on a 20-4 run over nine minutes to close within two at halftime, trailing 33-31. Momentum was taken from the Raiders as time expired in the period, however, when MU's Carly Gallagher – who scored a game-high 30 points off the bench – was fouled on a bucket and converted the three-point play to take the lead into the locker room.

Millersville raced out to a double-digit lead in the first five minutes of the second half and SU failed to come within five points of the lead in the final 17:04 of the game. SU was out rebounded 49-29 and was out-scored by a 46-24 margin in the paint.

The Raiders shot 7-for-14 from the free-throw line, marking their fewest makes on the season and the lowest free-throw percentage since Dec. 28, 2008, when SU also shot 50 percent (6-of-12) in a loss vs. Franklin Pierce.

Freshman Logan Snyder scored eight points off the bench while freshman Lauren Gold distributed a team-high four assists.

Strybuc and fellow senior Lauren Barnett (three points in 10 minutes off the bench) were honored in a ceremony before the game.
