WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Senior Sarah Strybuc tied the school single-game record with eight three-pointers to highlight a 32-point effort on Saturday afternoon that led the Shippensburg University women's basketball team to a dominant 95-80 road win over PSAC East-leading West Chester from Hollinger Field House.

Shippensburg (15-8, 9-4 PSAC East) avenged a heartbreaking one-point home loss to the Golden Rams (17-7, 12-2) last month by dealing WCU just its second conference loss of the season. Shippensburg sank a season-high 13 three-pointers (on 27 attempts, 48.1 percent) en route to scoring 90 or more points for the seventh time this season.

Strybuc needed just 10 attempts to tie the record set on four previous occasions, most recently by Lauren Beckley vs. Shaw on Dec. 29, 2006. Strybuc finished the game shooting 10-of-14 overall with the tying trey coming with 7:52 remaining.

SU excelled offensively with a 31-of-65 (47.7 percent) shooting effort and a 20-of-25 (80 percent) mark from the free-throw line as four Raiders reached double figures. In SU's last two road trips to Hollinger Field House, the Raiders have shot a combined 61-of-75 (81.3 percent) from the free-throw line.

Freshman Morgan Griffith recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Freshman Lauren Gold came a point shy of reaching double figures but made all four of her free-throw attempts and distributed a game-high five assists to just one turnover.

Sophomore Stephanie Knauer scored 15 points, added six rebounds and made all seven of her free-throw attempts while sophomore Caitlyn Deeter poured in 16 points off the bench with a career-high three makes from downtown (on five attempts).

The Raiders jumped out to an early 20-8 lead with before the Golden Rams rattled off 10 straight points to cut the deficit to two midway through the half. Shippensburg then used a 20-6 run to open up a 16-point lead – a margin that the Raiders would carry into halftime, up 47-31.

SU saw its lead cut to as few as 12 points four minutes into the second half before seven straight points – including a three-pointer and a layup courtesy of Strybuc 19 seconds apart – opened up a 56-37 lead. The Raider lead would eventually grow to as many as 26 points before a late 14-4 West Chester run cut the winning margin to just 15.

Strybuc continues her impressive play in her career vs. the Golden Rams, as she is averaging 22.4 points per game vs. WCU over her last five contests dating back to her sophomore season. Over the last two seasons, Strybuc has shot 18-of-33 (54.5 percent) from three-point range in four games vs. West Chester.

With three regular-season games remaining, Shippensburg is third in the PSAC East standings and still in contention for a top-2 seed and a bye in the first round of the PSAC Tournament. The Raiders next play on Wednesday at 6 p.m. when they host Mansfield from Heiges Field House.
