Abe Massaley and sophomore
Joe Lococo scored 20 and 18 points, respectively, but the Shippensburg University men's basketball team was out-rebounded by a significant margin in a 74-60 road loss at West Chester on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders (2-21, 0-13 PSAC East) were beaten on the glass by a 50-27 margin and scored just eight bench points to the 44 courtesy of the backups on West Chester (17-7, 10-4), which leapfrogged Bloomsburg to take over the second spot in the PSAC East standings.
Massaley led all scorers in shooting 7-of-12 from the floor and added four assists and a career-high four steals while Lococo shot 8-of-9 from the free-throw stripe and added a team-high five steals.
Sophomore
Jay Hardy contributed 10 points and redshirt-freshman
Marcus Williams pulled down eight rebounds.
West Chester put five players in double figures with three coming off the bench, including a team-high 14 points each from seniors R.J. Griffin and Ryan McKeaney on Senior Day.
Shippensburg next hosts Mansfield on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
