SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team scored over 100 points for the second time in as many weeks and five Raiders reached double figures in a 101-65 victory over Cheyney on Saturday afternoon on "Play 4 Kay" day inside Heiges Field House.

The victory marks the second time the Raiders (13-7, 7-3 PSAC East) have hit the century mark in 2014 after posting zero 100-point games from 2001-13.

A three-pointer by senior Sarah Strybuc on the opening possession set the tone for the first half as SU jumped out to a 20-10 lead within the first eight minutes. Shippensburg finished the first half with its second-highest half point total of the season (54 points) and shot an exceptional 90 percent (18-of-20) from the free-throw line.

Shippensburg held Cheyney (3-16, 3-7) to just 33 points and a field-goal percentage of 34.4 in the first half. SU has now held its opponents under 35 points in the first half in 13 contests this season.

The Raiders built on their first-half success and stayed in rhythm throughout the entire game as they made a season-high 10 three-pointers and amassed their second-highest assist total on the year with 23.

Freshman Lauren Gold distributed nearly half the team's assists as she matched a career-high 11, in addition to 13 points and six rebounds. Strybuc led the scoring effort with a game-high 20 points and finished second on the team with five assists.

Sophomore Stephanie Knauer racked up 16 points and five boards while freshman Logan Snyder contributed 14 points on her fourth start of the season and her second in as many games.

Freshman Haley Scullion became the fifth Raider to reach double-digits when she banked in a layup with 5:30 left in the contest to push her total to a career-high 10 points. Scullion also hauled in four rebounds and dished out three assists in her 21 minutes off the bench.

Shippensburg will return to action next Saturday as the team travels to Bloomsburg to face the Huskies at 1 p.m. in a PSAC Eastern Division matchup.
