The Shippensburg University women's basketball team opened its PSAC road contest Wednesday with a 30-3 run and did not allow an opposing point through the first 7:15 as it defeated Slippery Rock, 86-48, in a conference crossover matchup held inside Morrow Field House.
Junior
Stephanie Knauer tied her career high with 31 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and an 8-of-10 performance at the free-throw line.
In the first half, Knauer was 7-of-11 from the field (63.6 percent) while Slippery Rock shot 6-of-29 (20.7 percent) as a team.
Shippensburg (6-5, 2-3 PSAC) held Slippery Rock (5-4, 1-4) without a field goal until the 10:09 mark in the first half, scoring 21 points before The Rock got on the scoreboard with a free throw.
Entering the week, Slippery Rock ranked ninth in the country in defensive field goal percentage (32.0 percent), 16th in points allowed per game (55.1), 24th in steals per game (12.1) and 31st in defensive rebounds per game (31.0).
The Raiders shot 31-of-67 (46.3 percent) from the field, held a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounding and a 56-34 overall advantage in rebounding. SU also edged The Rock in steals, 6-5, and totaled 22 assists to just 10 turnovers (tying a season low).

Victoria Blackburn each contributed eight points including five assists for Blackburn and three for Gold.
Junior
Caitlyn Deeter totaled eight points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes of action.
Sophomore
Colleen Young pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, had four points and three assists. Eight of Young's rebounds came in the first half.
Junior
Shaniece Jackson and sophomore
Logan Snyder added six points apiece.
Freshman
Kristin McGeough contributed five points and six rebounds while sophomore
Haley Scullion tallied five points and five rebounds.
Shippensburg hosts Edinboro at 1 p.m. Saturday inside Heiges Field House.
