SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University women's and men's basketball teams will wrap up PSAC crossover play on Wednesday evening when they travel to Edinboro for a pair of games from McComb Fieldhouse. The women's game will tip at 5:30 p.m. while the men's game will tip afterward at approximately 7:30 p.m. The games will not count toward the PSAC standings.
The Raiders will open up PSAC East play on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a pair of games at 1 and 3 p.m. from Koehler Fieldhouse.
WOMEN
•   Shippensburg split a pair of tight home crossover contests last weekend, dropping a 95-90 back-and-forth affair to California (Pa.) on Friday before holding off a resilient Slippery Rock squad in a 74-73 overtime victory on Saturday. Against the Rock, the Raiders had all five of their starters score in double figures – a feat they hadn't achieved since a loss to West Chester nearly three years ago on Feb. 24, 2010.
•   The win over SRU gave head coach
Kristy Trn '93/'94M her 250th career victory in her 15th season at SU.
•    SU is the third-highest scoring team in the PSAC at 79.5 points per game (29th in Division II).
•   The Raiders have scored 90 or more points in four games this season — already one more than they have totaled in the previous seven seasons combined. In fact, SU scored 90 points in its loss to California (Pa.) on Friday, marking the first time its scored 90 or more in a loss in nearly 20 years (Feb. 15, 1993).
•   Shippensburg boasts two of the Top-4 scorers in the PSAC with senior
Sarah Strybuc ranking third at 19.3 points per game and sophomore
Stephanie Knauer fourth with 18.9 per game.
MEN
•   Shippensburg split its pair of home crossover contests last weekend with a dominant 72-61 win over California (Pa.) on Friday and a 78-65 loss to Slippery Rock on Saturday.
•   The win over the Vulcans was SU's second of the season and first over a PSAC opponent. The Raiders totaled 52 rebounds against the Vulcans and led by as many as 23 points in the second half as the triumph was the first home victory of first-year head coach
Chris Fite's career.
• Shippensburg currently ranks fourth in all of Division II in three-point percentage defense, holding opposing teams to just 26.8 percent (60-of-224) from downtown.
• Overall, SU's goal is to hold opponents to under 40 percent shooting, Fite said, and it has done that on five occasions this season, including an opponent season-low 33.3 shooting percentage by California (Pa.) in SU's last game out on Saturday.
