WOMEN
•   A 17-point second half from sophomore
Stephanie Knauer on Wednesday night highlighted an impressive final 20 minutes for Shippensburg as it fought back from an early nine-point second-half deficit to earn a 69-61 win over Lock Haven from Thomas Fieldhouse.
•   The Raiders completed the season sweep of divisional newcomer Lock Haven by rallying on the back of Knauer, who finished with a game-high 21 points after just four in the first half and shot 9-of-11 from the field overall.
•   Also on Wednesday night, Cheyney fell at home to crosstown rival West Chester, 95-66.
•   With seven conference games remaining, SU (6-3 PSAC East) is tied with Millersville for third in the division. The top two seeds – currently West Chester (8-1) and Bloomsburg (7-2) – will earn first-round byes in the PSAC Tournament. The Raiders play WCU, BU and Millersville each once more this season.
•   Earlier this season, the Raiders defeated Cheyney by a 76-68 score at CU's Cope Hall on Nov. 23 – a win that extended SU's winning streak over the Lady Wolves to seven games. Knauer (21 points) and senior
Sarah Strybuc and freshman
Lauren Gold (18 points each) led the effort in SU's coming back from a halftime deficit.
MEN
•   Despite a quartet of Raiders in double figures, Shippensburg was unable to take advantage of a fast start on Wednesday night in a 72-68 road loss at Lock Haven in front of a raucous Thomas Fieldhouse crowd.
•   The Raiders were paced by sophomore
Jay Hardy, who scored a team-high 19 points and sank a career-high five three-pointers. Sophomore
Joe Lococo (15), junior
Sam Pygatt (12) and freshman
Abe Massaley (10) also scored in double figures.
•   Cheyney also lost on Wednesday night in a 68-55 home decision vs. crosstown rival West Chester.
•   With seven conference games remaining, Shippensburg (0-9 PSAC East) needs to pass Kutztown (4-4) and Mansfield (2-7) in the standings to earn a playoff berth. SU plays both KU and Mansfield once more.
•   In SU's PSAC East road opener earlier this season on Nov. 23, the Raiders dropped a 78-62 decision at Cheyney. Massaley recorded then-career highs of 19 points and six assists but the Raiders could not hold onto a three-point halftime lead.
