SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University women's and men's basketball teams return home on Wednesday evening when they welcome Kutztown to Heiges Field House in a PSAC East doubleheader. The women's game will tip at 6 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately 8 p.m.

WOMEN

•    The Raiders look to continue the momentum from Saturday's historic win at Mansfield in which it scored the most points in a game in nearly 25 years in a 107-65 triumph. It was the most points in a game since scoring 109 in the 1990-91 season opener.

•    Shippensburg shot an impressive 57 percent (36-of-63) from the field – its highest field-goal percentage in a single game since 2003. Its 25 assists were the most since 2002 and its 22 steals were the most since 1999.

•    Freshman Lauren Gold recorded seven steals (the most for a Raider in nearly three years) and nearly recorded a triple-double with eight points and nine assists (zero turnovers) and was named the PSAC East Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon.

•    SU is the second-highest scoring team in the PSAC this season at 80.2 points per game. The Raiders have scored 90 or more points in five games this season — already two more than they have totaled in the previous seven seasons combined. Its 107-point effort on Saturday marked the first time it hit the century mark since scoring 104 at Clarion on Jan. 15, 2000.

•    Shippensburg boasts two of the Top-4 scorers in the PSAC with senior Sarah Strybuc ranking second at 18.9 points per game and sophomore Stephanie Knauer fourth with 18.1 per game. SU's three other regular starters are averaging at least nine points per game.

MEN

•    Wednesday's contest will be between two of the PSAC's most youthful teams this season. The teams have combined for just nine starts (out of 160 this season) by upperclassmen (junior and seniors) while 89.4 percent of Kutztown's minutes and 88.2 percent of Shippensburg's minutes have been played by underclassmen.

•    On Saturday afternoon, sophomore Joe Lococo scored 24 points to lead a quartet of Raiders in double figures but Shippensburg dropped an important PSAC Eastern Division contest at Mansfield, 82-73, from Decker Gymnasium.

•    Lococo shot 13-of-17 from the free-throw line and added a career-high six steals while sophomore Jay Hardy scored 12 points for the Raiders.

•    Lococo has taken on a greater scoring load this season as he leads the team and ranks fourth in the PSAC with 19.8 points per game.

•    A starter in all but two games this season, Hardy is averaging 9.8 points per game (third on the team) while playing 29 minutes per contest. Hardy's 34 three-pointers (34 percent from three) lead the Raiders.

•    Freshman Abe Massaley is tied for the team lead in assists with 49. He has recorded at least seven points in every game this season, including double digits in all but three games.
