Box Score

Sophomore Joe Lococo scored 24 points to lead a quartet of Raiders in double figures on Saturday afternoon but the Shippensburg University men's basketball team's dropped an important PSAC Eastern Division contest at Mansfield, 82-73, from Decker Gymnasium.

Lococo shot 13-of-16 from the free-throw line and added a career-high six steals while sophomore Jay Hardy scored 12 points for the Raiders (2-14, 0-6 PSAC East), who would have tied the Mountaineers (4-13, 2-5) in the divisional standings with a win.

Freshman Abe Massaley scored 11 points to complement a team-high four assists and junior Sam Pygatt shot 5-of-7 from the field for 11 points off the bench.

Redshirt-freshman Marcus Williams again produced on the glass with 11 rebounds while also swatting four shots to give him nine over the past two games. Williams's 26 blocks in 2013-14 are the most for a Raider in a single season since Derrick Graff turned away 47 shots during the 2008-09 season.

Sophomore Tony Ellis added five points and seven rebounds while junior Mark Wilmer added five points in 14 minutes off the bench against his former team.

A Lococo layup two seconds before the first half expired began a 9-0 Raider run that extended into the second half and allowed Shippensburg to erase a three-point halftime deficit and grab a four-point lead, up 40-36, two minutes into the second half.

After a 10-0 Mansfield run, Shippensburg regained the lead midway through the second half when five Lococo points on back-to-back possessions put the Raiders up 54-53.The Mountaineers again responded with a 10-0 run, however, and would hold the lead for the remainder of the contest.

The Raiders return home on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. divisional matchup against Kutztown from Heiges Field House.
