SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University women's and men's basketball teams look to snap their losing streaks on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Mansfield for a PSAC East doubleheader from the Mounties' Decker Gymnasium. The women's game will tip at 1 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately 3 p.m.
WOMEN
•   The Raiders suffered a heartbreaking home defeat on Wednesday night in a pivotal battle of the top teams in the PSAC Eastern Division when West Chester's Dallas Ely scooped in a go-ahead layup with 1.6 seconds left to steal an 87-86 victory for the Golden Rams.
•   All five of SU's starters scored in double figures – the second time in the past five games they've achieved such a feat. Prior to that stretch, SU had gone 93 consecutive games without achieving that feat.
•   SU is the third-highest scoring team in the PSAC this season at 78.4 points per game.
•   Shippensburg boasts two of the Top-4 scorers in the PSAC with senior
Sarah Strybuc ranking third at 18.8 points per game and sophomore
Stephanie Knauer fourth with 18.3 per game.
•   The Raiders are the third-best rebounding team in the PSAC at 43.1 per game thanks in large part to having two of the Top-7 rebounders in freshman
Morgan Griffith (4th with 9.3 rpg) and Knauer.
MEN
•   On Wednesday night, Shippensburg could not keep up with an efficient West Chester squad in an 82-65 home loss.
•   SU totaled nine blocks in the loss, marking the most it's had in a game since also swatting nine shots vs. Neumann on Dec. 8, 2007. Redshirt-freshman
Marcus Williams accounted for five of SU's blocks – a total that is the most for a Raider in a single game since Derrick Graff turned away five shots against Bloomsburg on Feb. 18, 2009.
•   The fourth-leading scorer in the PSAC at 19.5 points per game, sophomore
Joe Lococo recorded his first career double-double vs. West Chester with 20 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
•   Shippensburg is fifth in Division II in three-point percentage defense entering the week, holding opposing teams to just 27.2 percent (60-of-224) from downtown.
•   SU has held opponents to below 30 percent shooting from three-point range on seven occasions, including three times below 20 percent. SU held UPJ to an opponent season-low 7.7 percent (1-of-13).
