SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Despite a double-double by sophomore
Joe Lococo on Wednesday night, the Shippensburg University men's basketball team could not keep up with an efficient West Chester squad in a PSAC Eastern Division midweek contest from Heiges Field House.
The Raiders (2-13, 0-5 PSAC East) entered the game ranked fifth in Division II in opponent three-point percentage – holding opposing teams to just 27.2 percent (60-of-224) – but allowed the Golden Rams (12-4, 5-1) to shoot 52.4 percent on 11-of-21 shooting from downtown.
Shippensburg totaled nine blocks in the loss, the most it's had in a game since also swatting nine shots vs. Neumann on Dec. 8, 2007.
Redshirt-freshman
Marcus Williams accounted for five of SU's blocks – a total that is the most for a Raider in a single game since Derrick Graff turned away five shots against Bloomsburg on Feb. 18, 2009.
Lococo led the team with 20 points and added a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with a game-high five assists while Williams tied his career high with 14 rebounds.

Abe Massaley and sophomore
Tony Ellis each scored 13 points while sophomore
Jay Hardy also hit double figures with 10 points.
The Raiders travel to Mansfield on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Mountaineers from Decker Gymnasium.
