SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University women's and men's basketball teams return home on Wednesday evening when they welcome West Chester to Heiges Field House in a PSAC East doubleheader. The women's game will tip at 6 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately 8 p.m.
WOMEN
•   The game will feature the two teams atop the PSAC East standings as the Golden Rams sit first with a perfect 5-0 divisional mark while the Raiders are second with a 3-1 divisional mark (9-5 overall record).
•   On Saturday afternoon, Shippensburg trimmed its double-digit second-half deficit to as few as two points with 1:30 remaining on but couldn't complete the late comeback in a 71-62 loss at East Stroudsburg. The Raiders led by nine points at halftime before letting the lead slip away in the final 20 minutes.
•   The loss snapped Shippensburg's seven-game win streak to the Warriors as its last loss to ESU came on Jan. 16, 2010.
•   Shippensburg boasts two of the Top-4 scorers in the PSAC with senior
Sarah Strybuc ranking third at 18.9 points per game and sophomore
Stephanie Knauer fourth with 18.1 per game.
•   The Raiders are the third-best rebounding team in the PSAC at 42.9 rebounds per game thanks in large part to having two of the league's Top-8 rebounders in Knauer and freshman
Morgan Griffith (both are tied for seventh with 8.7 per game).
•   The Raiders snapped their eight-game losing streak to the Golden Rams in their first matchup last sea- son — a 20-point home win (75-55) on Jan. 23, 2013. In fact, SU won both of its matchups with West Chester last season, also taking a 78-68 road win on Feb. 20.
MEN
•   After an impressive start on Saturday afternoon that gave SU a six-point lead over the No. 10 team in the country with under seven minutes left in the first half, the Raiders could not hold off a fast-scoring East Stroudsburg squad in a 101-71 road loss to the undefeated Warriors.
•   SU led by six on three occasions in the first half before ESU embarked on a dominating 22-5 run over a five-minute span and entered the break with a 10-point lead. The Warriors then opened the second half on an 11-0 run and never looked back.
•   Shippensburg is fifth in Division II in three-point percentage defense, holding opposing teams to just 27.2 percent (60-of-224) from downtown.
•   SU has held opponents to below 30 percent shooting from three-point range on seven occasions, including three times below 20 percent. SU held UPJ to an opponent season-low 7.7 percent (1-of-13).
•   Overall, SU's goal is to hold opponents to under 40 percent shooting, head coach
Chris Fite said, and it has done that on five occasions this season, including an opponent season-low 33.3 shooting percentage by California (Pa.).
