SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University women's and men's basketball teams resume PSAC East play on Saturday afternoon when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a road doubleheader from Koehler Fieldhouse. The women's game will tip at 1 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately 3 p.m.
WOMEN
•   Shippensburg was unable to hold onto a first-half double-digit lead on Wednesday evening in a 94-74 road loss at PSAC West heavyweight Edinboro in each team's conference crossover finale. Four Raider starters scored in double figures as SU shot 25-of-28 from the free-throw line, good for a season-high 89.2 percent proficiency.
•   SU is the third-highest scoring team in the PSAC at 79.1 points per game (29th in Division II entering the week).
•   Shippensburg boasts two of the Top-4 scorers in the PSAC with senior
Sarah Strybuc ranking third at 19.0 points per game and sophomore
Stephanie Knauer fourth with 18.4 per game.
•   The Raiders are the third-best rebounding team in the PSAC at 42.9 per game thanks in large part to having two of the Top-11 rebounders in Knauer and freshman
Morgan Griffith (8.3 boards per game).
•   Shippensburg leads the PSAC in all three categories at the charity stripe: 320 made free throws, 413 free-throw attempts and a 77.5 percentage.
MEN
•   Shippensburg got career highs from freshman
Abe Massaley (27 points) and sophomore
Jay Hardy (21 points) on Wednesday night and set a season high for points but could not overcome a double-digit deficit in the second half, dropping an 84-81 battle at Edinboro.
•   The Raiders were 13-of-13 from the free-throw line in the second half and finished the game 16-of-17 at the charity stripe. SU also set a season high with nine three-pointers and matched its season-low of nine turnovers.
•   Shippensburg entered the week ranked fourth in all of Division II in three-point percentage defense, holding opposing teams to just 26.8 percent (60-of-224) from downtown.
•   Overall, SU's goal is to hold opponents to under 40 percent shooting, head coach
Chris Fite said, and it has done that on five occasions this season, including an opponent season-low 33.3 shooting percentage by California (Pa.) last Friday.
•   The Raiders have beaten East Stroudsburg in each of the past three seasons, including an 87-77 home upset of then-No. 9-ranked ESU in the team's last matchup on Feb. 16 of last season.
