After a scoreless first half on Saturday afternoon, two goals in the span of 11 minutes midway through the second half dealt the Shippensburg University women's soccer team a 2-0 loss at Gannon in PSAC action.
The Raiders (5-3, 4-3 PSAC) – ranked No. 7 in the NSCAA Atlantic Region rankings – managed nine shots on the day, including a game-high five from junior
Carolyn Smith.
SU stayed even with Gannon (5-2, 5-2) in corners (6-6) and gave up 13 shots, but goals from Kaitlyn Kissell in the 67th minute and Michelle Genetin in the 78th minute gave the Golden Knights (No. 8 in the region) a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish.
