SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University football team seeks its second consecutive win of 2013 when it travels to Millersville for a noon PSAC Eastern Division matchup from Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

A student radio broadcast of the game will be available on 88.7 FM in Shippensburg and can be accessed online at www.wsyc.org. Perry Mattern returns as the play-by-play voice of the Red Raiders while Jimmy Wright will provide commentary.

SU enters 2013 as the preseason favorite in the PSAC Eastern Division for the first time in history after an 11-2 season in which it reached the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Millersville, meanwhile, was voted to finish seventh in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches Poll. The Marauders were 2-9 last season with a 1-6 East record and finished seventh in the division.

Shippensburg returns 29 letter-winners, including eight starters on defense, six on offense and its two kicking specialists. Millersville returns 10 starters, including five on offense and four on defense. The Marauders also return 29 letter-winners, with 14 each on offense and defense.

Game Background

• SU opened its PSAC East slate last Saturday with its first win of 2013, a 41-31 victory over previously undefeated East Stroudsburg in SU's home opener from SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium.

• Junior wide receiver Trevor Harman earned his first career PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week award on Sunday after catching six passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns vs. ESU. Among his three TDs were a toe-dragging 20-yard TD in the back of the endzone with 10 seconds left in the first half and an 81-yard bomb up the sideline in the fourth quarter for SU's longest play from scrimmage this season.

• Senior quarterback Zach Zulli threw four touchdowns to give him 95 on his career, making him one of just five players in PSAC history with 95 or more passing touchdowns.

• Junior transfer Shannon Maura returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for the first kickoff return score by a Red Raider since Oct. 3, 2009. Maura's 240 kick return yards shattered the school single-game record (previously 158 by Mike Erlandson on Oct. 25, 1997).

• Under the lights last Saturday, Millersville fell at home to then-No. 20 West Chester, 48-3. The Golden Rams compiled 456 yards rushing and limited the Marauders to just 121 yards of total offense, with just seven yards coming on the ground.

Series History: Red Raiders vs. Millersville

• The Red Raiders lead the overall series 40-23-2. SU has won the last nine meetings in the series but lost the previous five before the current streak began in 2001. The regional rivals have faced each other 17 times over the past 24 seasons but the first divisional entry in the series came in 2008.

• The two teams first met in 1916 with Shippensburg earning a 15-0 home victory. SU has out-scored Millersville 267-99 over the last eight meetings between the two squads.

• The last time SU played at Millersville was during a rare October snowstorm on the Marauders' Homecoming in 2011. SU held the hosts to minus-7 yards of total offense until its final drive of the game and just 62 yards overall while running for 391 yards, the fourth-best single-game total in school history, in a 40-0 shutout.
