Box Score

A Clarion goal just over two minutes into the second half proved to be the difference on a rainy Saturday afternoon in the Shippensburg University women's soccer team's 1-0 loss in PSAC action from the Golden Eagles' Memorial Stadium.

Despite a 14-6 advantage in shots, the Raiders (4-2, 3-2 PSAC) couldn't find the back of the net. SU was held to five shots in the second half, but couldn't find the equalizer against the Golden Eagles (3-1-2, 3-1-2).

Senior Ashley Vellucci led SU with four shots and two on goal, including one saved in the 81st minute by Clarion goalkeeper Laura Saussol (six saves).

Senior Shelbie Rackley made two saves in net. Juniors Brooke Clippinger and Carolyn Smith each took two shots.

SU returns to action next Friday with a 2 p.m. road match at Mercyhurst before heading to Gannon the following day for a 3:30 p.m. start.
