Dr. Jim Pribula, Shippensburg University's director of athletics from 1982-2001, will be inducted November 16 into the Chester County Sports of Hall of Fame. Pribula was an All-American at West Chester University, where he graduated in 1962.
Pribula was inducted into SU's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Shippensburg won 37 PSAC Championships during his tenure and also the 1998 and 1999 Dixon Trophy. Among his many contributions to SU Athletics include establishing drug and alcohol education programs for athletes and the Office of Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes.
Before his role as athletic director, Pribula spent several seasons as an assistant football coach with the Red Raiders. He was a member of Shippensburg's health and physical education faculty from 1964 until his retirement in 2001.
