The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team had one of its seniors reach two career milestones Tuesday afternoon at IUP but could not overcome the conference front-running Crimson Hawks, dropping an 18-9 decision at Miller Stadium.
Senior
Lindsey Kennedy netted her fourth hat trick of the year and had a season-high four assists. Kennedy became the 11th player in school history to score 100 or more goals, while her 69 assists has her tied for the school record with Page Heath '04. With 101 career goals, Kennedy is now tied for ninth place in school history with Kim Hudicka '06.
Kennedy scored on a free-position shot less than five minutes into the game that made the score 1-1, but IUP (6-0, 3-0 PSAC) responded with a five-goal burst to lead 6-1 midway through the frame. Sophomore

Bennett Widlake also scored in the first half, but the Crimson Hawks held a 9-3 lead at the intermission.
Shippensburg (3-6, 1-2 PSAC) trailed 14-4 with 22:49 remaining in the game before scoring five goals over the next 12 minutes to make the score 15-9. The Crimson Hawks scored the final three goals of the contest to clinch the victory.
Courtney Kennedy and Widlake each finished with two goals and an assist.

Senior
Sarah Chrencik was on point defensively for the Raiders, recording a career-high eight groundballs and matching a career high with four caused turnovers. Chrencik's previous career high for groundballs in a game was five, set earlier this season. French had five groundballs and two caused turnovers, while senior
Jenna Simmons was credited with four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Freshman
Ally Frymoyer was credited with a career-high 15 saves.
Shippensburg will host Edinboro at 2 p.m. Friday from Robb Sports Complex and also host Slippery Rock at 2 p.m. Saturday while holding its “Stick it to Cancer” fund-raiser.
