SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University tennis team did not drop a point on Friday afternoon from the Robb Sports Complex tennis courts en route to a 9-0 blanking of Cheyney for its first win of the 2012-13 season in its PSAC East spring schedule opener.
The Raiders (1-7) open up their conference slate 1-0 and are now tied atop the East standings with West Chester (2-0 PSAC East) and Kutztown (also 1-0). SU has now beaten Cheyney (0-5, 0-1) in three consecutive seasons.
All six winners at singles – each by a 6-0, 6-0 score – earned their first singles victories of the season. Senior

Saintz and Buckley began SU's three 8-0 wins at doubles before the pairings of Shearer and Delgado and Erickson and Wolfe each won their second doubles matches of the season.
SU will host West Chester on Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Robb Sports Complex tennis courts.
