SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team will be playing its Saturday home games versus Kutztown inside Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators.
Admission is free to all fans for the 1 p.m. doubleheader against the Golden Bears.
Saturday's forecast is for sunny skies and a high temperature of 54 degrees. The host Senators are also expected to test some of their promotional activities for the regular season throughout the day.
SU (16-5, 3-1 PSAC East), ranked No. 14 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll, went 4-2 last week and remains atop the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Poll for the third straight week. The Raiders took 3 of 4 from ESU in their PSAC East season opener.
KU (14-4, 4-0 PSAC East), ranked fifth in the NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll, enters this weekend having won eight consecutive games - including a four-game sweep of Mansfield. The Golden Bears played a nine-inning game yesterday at Felician and defeated the Golden Falcons, 5-3.
The SU sports information staff will be on hand and provide as many in-game services as it can based on the accomodations provided by the Senators. For those that cannot attend, radio broadcasts by both teams are anticipated.
