SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team dropped its PSAC opener to No. 11-ranked Lock Haven on Wednesday afternoon, 19-8, at Robb Sports Complex. Senior Lindsey Kennedy, sophomore Courtney Kennedy and senior Roxanne Brown each scored twice for the Raiders.

Lindsey Kennedy added an assist to go along with her two tallies. She also led the team with four groundballs, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. Courtney Kennedy had two groundballs and two draw controls. Sophomore Sheila Johnson chipped in with a goal and an assist. Junior Amanda Krok was SU's other goal scorer of the day.

Junior defender Liz French contributed two groundballs and won three draw controls. Fellow junior Carly Ruberti also had two draw controls.

Before the game, the two teams posed for a group picture wearing special “Lax 4 Life” t-shirts. Wednesday was SU's annual “Lax 4 Life” fund-raising event in which donations were collected for the Allyson Rose Green Memorial Fund – an organization that deals with adolescent and teen suicide prevention.

Shippensburg will travel to Kutztown on Saturday for a 1 p.m. clash with the Golden Bears.
