SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team scored four times in the first two-and-a-half minutes of regulation on Tuesday afternoon and rolled to a convincing 17-5 victory over WVIAC opponent Wheeling Jesuit from Robb Sports Complex.
Wearing red and yellow shoelaces in tribute to the Seton Hill women's lacrosse team, the Raiders (2-2) evened their record to .500 with a 14-goal first-half effort – the most SU has scored in a half since also netting 14 in a 21-5 home win over Shepherd on March 27 last season.
The Raiders also provided red and yellow ribbons to all fans in attendance and paused for a moment of silence for the Griffins before the start of the game.
Shippensburg's early 4-0 lead was eventually extended to a 9-0 margin midway through the first half. Shippensburg led by as many as 13 after a goal just over two minutes into the second half put the Cardinals (2-5) in a 15-2 deficit.

The Raiders will travel to Florida tomorrow for a pair of games during the remainder of their spring break. SU will play at Saint Leo at 7 p.m. Thursday before squaring off against Florida Southern on Saturday at 1 p.m.
