SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University men's and women's basketball teams will play in the second game of its current three-game road swing Wednesday night with a PSAC Eastern Division doubleheader against Kutztown inside Keystone Arena.

NOTE THE TIMES: The women will tip at 5:30 p.m. with the men following suit at approximately 7:30 p.m.

WOMEN:

•    Shippensburg (14-6, 10-5) clinched a playoff berth on Saturday based on the fact it is eight games up on seventh-place Mansfield, as the PSAC Tournament now features the Top 6 teams from each division. However, the Raiders will be fighting for a top seed over the course of the season's final four weeks.

•    The log jam currently atop the PSAC East features Bloomsburg (11-4) one game ahead of Shippensburg (10-5) and Millersville (10-5), but West Chester (9-6) and Wednesday's opponent Kutztown (9-6) are right behind. (PSAC records in parentheses).

•    SU has won five consecutive games against PSAC opponents for the first time since Jan. 5-19, 2008. The Raiders have earned five straight victories against PSAC Eastern Division teams for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

MEN:

•    Shippensburg (4-15, 2-13) may be eighth currently in the PSAC standings but the Raiders are in the midst of a crucial stretch that will determine if they are to make the postseason tournament this season. SU is two games behind Kutztown (4-11), but just one game behind both Mansfield (3-12) and Bloomsburg (3-12) - two teams that the Raiders have already beaten this season. All three teams are Shippensburg's next three scheduled opponents.

•    This past Saturday, Shippensburg cut a 23-point first-half deficit to as few as nine points in the second half but was unable to close out the comeback, falling 87-70 to Cheyney from the Wolves' Cope Hall.
