SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University men's and women's basketball teams host Cheyney on Saturday afternoon in each team's regular season home finale from Heiges Field House. The women's game is at 1 p.m. while the men will play afterward at approximately 3 p.m.

The Raiders will be celebrating Senior Day before the tip of each game as the women will honor seniors Caitlin Bamberger, Raediah Lyles, Morgan Taylor, Dana Wert and Shawna Wert. The men will honor lone senior Philip Sasko.

WOMEN

•    The Raiders are currently third in the PSAC East standings and still have a shot at claiming the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. Cheyney is last in the division.

•    Tied with West Chester with 4:07 remaining on Wednesday night, Shippensburg held the Golden Rams scoreless for the next 3:19 of regulation while making 10 straight free throw attempts to cement a 78-68 road victory from West Chester's Hollinger Field House. SU shot 41-of-50 from the free-throw line overall – the most free throws made and attempted for the program dating back through at least the 1998-99 season

•    Also on Wednesday night, Lachelle Miller scored 20 points but it wasn't enough as Cheyney fell to Kutztown, 74-47.

MEN

•    SU is tied for fifth in the PSAC East standings with Bloomsburg and Mansfield and holds the tiebreaker over both teams. Cheyney is fourth in the division but is ineligible for the postseason.

•    The Raiders lost on the road to Cheyney, 87-70, earlier this season on Feb. 2.

•    Despite four players in double figures on Wednesday night, Shippensburg was unable to continue the momentum from its two-game winning streak, dropping a 79-70 outcome at West Chester from WCU's Hollinger Field House. Sophomore Reggie Charles led the Raiders with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go along with five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Redshirt-freshman Tyhiem Perrin continued his hot late-season play with 15 points on 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.

•    Also on Wednesday night, Cheyney got back to .500 for the first time since mid-December with a 103-79 victory at Kutztown. The Wolves were led by Jason Sabb's career high-tying 35 points.
