SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University men's and women's basketball teams continue PSAC East play this weekend with a Saturday afternoon doubleheader against Cheyney from the Wolves' Cope Hall. The women will tip at 1 p.m. with the men following suit at approximately 3 p.m.

WOMEN:

•    In a crucial PSAC East battle of two of the top teams in the division vying for position in the standings, the Raiders fought back from an early deficit to take down visiting Millersville on Wednesday night, 70-58, from Heiges Field House. Senior Dana Wert shot 14-of-18 from the free-throw line and finished with a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds.

•    Also on Wednesday night, despite 12 points from Tamara Russell and 11 points from Kyra Hines-Allen, Cheyney fell 65-48 to West Chester from Hollinger Fieldhouse.

MEN:

•    A deep three-point attempt from the top of the key by sophomore Reggie Charles bounced off the back of the rim as the buzzer sounded on Wednesday night as Shippensburg let a nine-point second-half lead evaporate and was unable to knock off Millersville in a 63-62 loss from Heiges Field House.

•    Also on Wednesday night, Cheyney got out-rebounded and shot poorly from the foul line to fall 79-71 on the road to cross-town rival West Chester.  Despite four players in double figures, the Wolves were out-rebounded 52-33 and shot only 13-of-23 from the charity stripe compared to 30-of-44 for the Golden Rams.
