SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team resumed conference play and suffered an 80-61 loss on Saturday afternoon to visiting Bloomsburg at Heiges Field House.
The Raiders (1-5, 0-3 PSAC East) were led by sophomore guard
Joe Lococo who had a game-high 27 points and dished out five assists. SU's second-leading scorer on the day was freshman
Oliver Stroh who scored a season-high 11 points.
Bloomsburg (6-1, 4-0) had four players reach double-figures as Alssene Saintilus and Wes Lyons led the way with 16 points each. Lorenzo Christmas added 14 points and Ed Hall chipped in with 10 points.
Shippensburg bounced back in the second half as the team shot 51.7 percent from the floor, doubling its 25.9 first half percentage.
The Huskies controlled the post area as they out-scored the Raiders 44-26 in the paint and had 15 second-chance points to SU's two.
Shippensburg will return to action on Tues., Dec. 17 when the team travels to face Pitt-Johnstown at 7:30 p.m.
