SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – A double-double performance by freshman Morgan Griffith highlighted a group of four Raiders in double figures on Saturday afternoon as the Shippensburg University women's basketball team earned an 82-71 victory over PSAC newcomer Seton Hill from Heiges Field House.

The Raiders (8-2) maintained a comfortable lead throughout most of the contest as they finished the game shooting 49.2 percent from the field.

The Griffins (6-5) stormed back midway through the second half when they went on an 11-2 run that lasted nearly five minutes to cut the SU lead to 57-55.

Sophomore Stephanie Knauer ended the surge, however, with a three-pointer with 6:53 left as SU out-scored the Griffins 22-16 the rest of the way.

Griffith recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points (tied for her career high) and 11 rebounds on a 7-of-11 effort from the field. Senior Sarah Strybuc led all scorers with 20 points in addition to dishing out a game-high seven assists. Strybuc has scored 20+ points in four contests this season and has reached double-figures in all but one game.

Shippensburg also received double-digit performances from Knauer (18 points) and sophomore Caitlyn Deeter (16).

Senior Lauren Barnett also played a key role in the Raider victory as she scored a season-high seven points and pulled down a career-high seven rebounds in a season-high 14 minutes of action.

SU will return to action on Jan. 3, 2014, when it hosts California (Pa.) at 1 p.m.
