Senior Sarah Strybuc surpassed 1,000 career points on Wednesday night but the Shippensburg University women's basketball team was unable to keep up with PSAC West rival IUP, falling 70-49 in crossover action from the Kovalchick Complex.

Needing 10 points entering the contest, Strybuc sank a deep three-pointer with exactly five minutes left in regulation to give her 12 points on the night and 1,002 on her career. IUP happened to call timeout after the shot, allowing the public address announcer to acknowledge the accomplishment.

The Raiders (7-2) had three players reach double figures, but it was not enough to keep up with the balanced scoring of the Crimson Hawks (8-1), who got out to a quick 11-3 advantage and never looked back while leading for the entirety of the contest.

Sophomore Stephanie Knauer added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and fell two rebounds shy of a double-double.

In her first career start, freshman Logan Snyder scored a career-high 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting to go along with a team-high three assists. Sophomore Caitlyn Deeter contributed seven points and freshman Morgan Griffith (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg Area) pulled down seven rebounds.
