Despite career highs of 19 points and six assists by freshman
Abe Massaley on Saturday afternoon, the Shippensburg University men's basketball team could not hold onto a halftime lead, falling victim to a second-half scoring surge by Cheyney in a 78-62 loss from the Wolves's Cope Hall.
SU (0-4, 0-2 PSAC East) led 29-26 at intermission, but the Wolves (1-3, 1-1) scored exactly twice as many points in the second half as they did in the first to pull away in the final 10 minutes for their first victory of the season.
Massaley shot 12-of-16 from the free-throw line while sophomore
Jay Hardy poured in a career-high five field goals (on eight attempts) as his 13 points fell one shy of tying his career high. Hardy made three of his four attempts from three-point land.

Joe Lococo added eight points while freshman
Oliver Stroh contributed seven points. Redshirt-freshman
Marcus Williams scored six points and pulled down five rebounds.
Shippensburg has a week off of competition over Thanksgiving before it travels to Chestnut Hill next Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest.
