The Shippensburg University wrestling team opened its 2013-14 season with matchups against two strong Division I opponents, dropping a 42-3 decision to host Lock Haven and a 50-0 decision to Bucknell.

Shippensburg (0-2) got a victory at 125 pounds against Lock Haven from junior Dave Calambas, who posted a 6-4 victory. Freshman Evan Ramos dropped a 10-8 decision at 197 pounds against LHU's Phil Sprenkle, while senior heavyweight Jacob Nale dropped a 6-5 decision to Cody Mason.

The Bald Eagles recorded one pin, two technical falls and two major decisions while the Bison notched three pins and two major decisions. SU forfeited the 141- and 184-pound weight classes in both matches.

Shippensburg will compete in two weeks at the ESU Open.
