SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Just 50 seconds after Seton Hill tied the game in the 83rd minute on Saturday night, junior Derrick Roy netted the game-winner to send the Shippensburg University men's soccer team to a 2-1 Senior Day victory over the Griffins from David See Field that clinched a PSAC playoff berth for the Raiders.

The victory gives Shippensburg (9-5-1, 6-3 PSAC)) 18 conference points, currently tying it for fourth in the PSAC standings. The top six teams receive berths, with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds receiving first-round byes and the third and fourth seeds hosting first-round games.

Roy's team-leading fourth game-winner of the season came off a double-assist from senior Jonathan DeNicola and sophomore Derek Adams in the 84th minute in in which DeNicola sent a cross in toward Adams, who connected on a touch to Roy for his 10th goal of the season.

The 10 goals put Roy in a tie for third in the PSAC while his 24 points rank third. His scoring prowess in 2013 marks the first double-digit goals season for a Raider since Miles Harriger had 11 goals in 2010.

Freshman Colin McConnell scored his second goal of the season when he opened up the scoring with an unassisted strike in the 27th minute. The Raiders clutched to the 1-0 lead until Seton Hill (9-6-1, 4-5-1) netted the equalizer off the foot of Jack Wardale.

Senior goalkeeper Clay Sale made seven saves in the victory.

DeNicola, Sale, Casey Bellamy, Kevin Hollasch, Logan Kuhn, Alex Prosser, Oli Templeton and Patrick Urmson were each honored in a Senior Day pregame ceremony.
