SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University football team seeks its sixth consecutive win on Saturday afternoon when it hosts fellow PSAC Eastern Division leader and No. 13-ranked West Chester on Homecoming from SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium.

The Red Raiders (5-2) and Golden Rams (7-0) are each tied with Bloomsburg (7-0) for the PSAC East lead with a perfect 4-0 record with three divisional games remaining.

Shippensburg is currently riding a school-record 12-game home winning streak and a four-year Homecoming winning streak, with wins over West Chester (2009), Cheyney (2010), Kutztown (2011) and LIU Post (2012) on Homecoming the last four seasons.

A student radio broadcast of the game will be available on 88.7 FM in Shippensburg and can be accessed online at www.wsyc.org. Perry Mattern returns as the play-by-play voice of the Red Raiders while Jimmy Wright will provide commentary.

Live video coverage of the game will be provided by Shippensburg University's student television station (SUTV) and can be accessed online at www.ship.edu/goraiders. An archive of the game can also be accessed there. The game will also be shown on terrestrial television on Comcast community access channel 21 and campus channel 82.

Shippensburg entered 2013 as the preseason favorite in the PSAC Eastern Division for the first time in school history after an 11-2 season in which it reached the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. West Chester was picked to finish third in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing in a tie for third place in the division last season with a 4-3 divisional record and a 7-3 mark overall.

Shippensburg returned 29 letter-winners from last season, including eight starters on defense, six on offense and its two kicking specialists. West Chester returned seven starters on each side of the ball in addition to its two kicking specialists.

Game Background

• Shippensburg set a school record with its 12th consecutive home victory on Saturday afternoon by scoring 24 points in both the second and third quarters of a 55-30 defeat of Kutztown.

• The Raiders had two players finish with double-digit receptions in the same game for the first time in school history: junior wide receiver Sheldon Mayer set career highs with 11 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown while fellow junior wide receiver Trevor Harman had 10 catches for a season-high 166 yards and two touchdowns.

• Junior running back Blair Brooks set a new career high in rushing for the second straight game, amassing 150 yards on just 14 carries (10.7 yards per carry), including a 69-yard touchdown.

• Senior defensive end Dainen Green set career highs with four tackles for loss and two sacks vs. the Golden Bears as he was named PSAC Eastern Division Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

• Also on Saturday, senior running back Rondell White rushed for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns and racked up 307 all-purpose yards to lead West Chester to a 34-13 road win at Lock Haven. The Golden Rams' 7-0 mark to start the season is their best start since an 8-0 beginning to the 1974 season.

• White ran the ball 33 times while fifth-year junior quarterback Sean McCartney was 15-for-20 passing for 251 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions to help the Golden Rams extend their winning streak to eight games dating back to last season – their longest winning streak since 1992.

Series History: Red Raiders vs. West Chester

• West Chester holds a 21-10-1 lead in the series history between the two teams. Until earning a victory in 2009, Shippensburg had lost five in a row and 11 out of 15 against the Golden Rams. Shippensburg's victory in 2009 was its first at home over the Golden Rams since the 1999 season.

• The two teams have met every year since 2002, with West Chester holding a 7-4 margin over that span.

• SU won a memorable game against the Golden Rams last season in which it overcame a 21-point first-half deficit and pitched a second-half shutout in a 42-24 win during West Chester's Homecoming. The comeback victory was SU's largest since a 35-28 win vs. Lock Haven on Oct. 31, 1998, in which it came back from a 22-point deficit.

Success at Seth Grove

• Last season's victory at WCU avenged a 52-17 home loss to West Chester on Oct. 8, 2011 – the last loss SU has suffered at home. Since that loss midway through the 2011 season, the Raiders have won a school-record 12 straight home victories. A 44-14 home victory over the Warriors on November 5, 2011 began the current run.

• The Red Raiders have outscored opponents by a 611-278 margin during the home winning streak. Shippensburg is averaging 51 points per game during the streak and has scored at least 36 points in each victory.

• The 12-game mark broke the previous record of 11 straight home wins that began on September 26, 1925 (Dickinson JV) and lasted through October 1, 1927 (Georgetown Freshmen).

• Shippensburg won seven games last season playing at SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium — a program record and the school's first undefeated season at home since 1999.

• SU head coach Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski '92/'96M, currently in his third season, is 14-1 at Seth Grove Stadium, with the only loss being the 2011 loss to the Golden Rams.
