SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team was unable to overcome a second-half goal in the 59th minute by the visiting No. 23-ranked Millersville on Wednesday evening in a 1-0 loss to the Marauders from David See Field.
The Raiders (4-3-1, 1-2 PSAC) had few opportunities as the Marauders (6-2-1, 3-0) owned possession and finished with a 19-7 advantage in shots and a 7-2 advantage in corners. SU's seven shots were the fewest it's had in a game this season.
Senior goalkeeper
Clay Sale made a season-high seven saves in net. Millersville's goal came on a loose ball that Marauder sophomore Jaime Vazquez chipped over Sale for the lone tally of the game.
Shippensburg hits the road Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference matchup at Cedarville (Ohio).
