SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Seven different Raiders scored goals on Saturday afternoon as the No. 1-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team celebrated Senior Day with an 8-0 shutout of Mercyhurst from Robb Sports Complex.
The nine-member senior class was honored before the game and stole the show on the field, as six of the eight Raider (14-0, 7-0 PSAC) goals were scored by a senior. The entire team was dominant throughout, posting totals of 27 shots and 16 penalty corners.
The shutout of Mercyhurst (6-7, 2-4) was SU's fourth of the season as the squad has now out-scored its opponents 50-14 on the year.
The eight goals were the most Shippensburg has scored in a game since also scoring eight at Saint Michael's in a shutout in the second game of the 2012 season. It was the highest scoring home game for SU since a 10-2 win against Mansfield on September 24, 2011.

Bre White scored twice – giving her a team-leading 12 goals on the season – and added an assist on the first score of the game on a rocket toward the right post that senior
Lauren Taylor knocked in. Taylor added an assist on a goal from senior
Megan Jett in the final goal of the first half.
Senior
Katie Shoop scored her first goal of the season 11 minutes into the second half while senior
Taylor Bender added a goal and assisted freshman
Cassie Rawa on her first career goal.
Senior
Brittany Jett also added an assist while freshman
Suzanne Muller closed out the scoring with under eight minutes left with her third goal of the season.
Senior goalkeeper
Carenna Neely had another stellar effort in the cage, turning away three shots in nearly 46 minutes of action. Sophomore keeper
Taylor Webster played the final 24 minutes in relief and made two saves.
Shippensburg's nine seniors – Bender,

Megan Jett, Neely,
Danielle Proctor,
Brynn Seidenstricker, Shoop, Taylor and White – all earned starts, with Seidenstricker's the first of her career.
The Raiders will travel to Slippery Rock on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. matchup with The Rock.
