SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University football team seeks its third consecutive win when it hosts PSAC Western Division newcomer Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon from SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium in a divisional crossover matchup marking the first ever head-to-head battle between the two programs.

A student radio broadcast of the game will be available on 88.7 FM in Shippensburg and can be accessed online at www.wsyc.org. Perry Mattern returns as the play-by-play voice of the Red Raiders while Jimmy Wright will provide commentary.

Live video coverage of the game will be provided by Shippensburg University's student television station (SUTV) and can be accessed online at www.ship.edu/goraiders. An archive of the game can also be accessed there.

The game will also be shown on terrestrial television on Comcast community access channel 21 and campus channel 82.

SU enters 2013 as the preseason favorite in the PSAC Eastern Division for the first time in history after an 11-2 season in which it reached the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Seton Hill joined the PSAC this season after spending its first six seasons of football competing in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Griffins finished 0-11 last season and were picked to finish last (eighth) in this season's PSAC Western Division Preseason Coaches Poll.

Shippensburg returns 29 letter-winners, including eight starters on defense, six on offense and its two kicking specialists. Among SU's returners are Harlon Hill Trophy-winning quarterback Zach Zulli, the entire starting secondary and three defensive ends.

Seton Hill returns two 2012 All-WVIAC selections: senior quarterback Andrew Jackson (Honorable Mention, 16 passing touchdowns on the season) and junior linebacker Tyler Zimmer (First Team), a Daktronics First Team All-American who was ranked No. 61 in D2Football.com's Top 100 Division II players.

Game Background

• The Raiders rolled up 504 yards of total offense in a 48-10 victory at Millersville on Saturday to improve to 2-0 in PSAC Eastern Division action so far this season.

• Senior quarterback Zach Zulli threw for five touchdowns to give him 100 on his career, making him just the fourth quarterback in PSAC history to reach 100 career passing scores. Zulli threw for a season-high 353 yards on 28-of-36 passing, good for a 77.8 completion percentage that's the second-highest for a single game in his career.

• For his accomplishments in the win over the Marauders, Zulli was named the PSAC Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season and the eighth time of his career.

• Senior defensive end Jake Metz also achieved a milestone against Millersville, recording 2.5 sacks to break the school career sacks record. With 24.5 sacks, Metz surpassed Ed Brown (1979-82), who held the previous school record of 24. He is now 8.5 tackles for loss from tying the school career record.

• Also on Saturday, Seton Hill dropped its fourth straight contest to open the season after a 43-7 road loss at Edinboro in which the Griffins were outgained 367-116 in total offense. The Griffins' lone touchdown on the day came on a 23-yard fumble return touchdown by sophomore linebacker Tim Johnson.

Success at Seth Grove

• The Red Raiders have won 10 straight home games dating back to the 2011 season. A 44-14 home victory over the Warriors on November 5, 2011 began the current run.

• During SU's 10-game home winning streak, the Red Raiders have outscored opponents by a 483-221 margin. Shippensburg has scored at least 36 points in all 10 of the victories.

• The school record for the longest home winning streak is 11 games, a run that began on Sept. 26, 1925 (Dickinson JV) and lasted through Oct. 1, 1927 (Georgetown Freshmen).

• Shippensburg won seven games last season playing at SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium — a program record and the school's first undefeated season at home since 1999.

• SU head coach Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski, currently in his third season, is 12-1 at Seth Grove Stadium. The only loss came against West Chester (52-17) on October 8, 2011.
