BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team embarked upon a 25-7 run midway through the first half Wednesday night to take control of its PSAC Eastern Division road game at Bloomsburg and never looked back, leading by as many as 28 points en route to a 79-58 victory over the Huskies.

Shippensburg (3-11, 1-9 PSAC) snapped a long losing skid with solid all-around play. SU shot 57 percent from the field in the first half, scored 28 points off turnovers and finished an impressive 35-of-46 (76 percent) from the free-throw line. The free-throw tally was one short of SU's season high from the season opener, when SU shot 36-of-50 in its overtime victory over Chestnut Hill.

SU was especially opportunistic in the first half, scoring 20 points off turnovers and shooting 17-of-22 from the free throw line to build a 48-24 lead at the intermission. The Raiders played with a vigilant, attacking pace and thrived off the transition game.

Five Raiders finished in double figures for the first time since the season opener. Sophomore Reggie Charles led all players with 17 points, including an 11-of-12 effort at the free-throw line. Charles also had four assists and three steals.

Freshman guard Joe Lococo scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting. He also had a career-high five steals, all of which came in the first half. Junior Dylan Edgar chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds, making 6-of-10 at the charity stripe.

Sophomore Sam Pygatt was efficient in 24 minutes with 12 points and four rebounds, making 6-of-7 at the free-throw line. Freshman Tony Ellis added 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Shippensburg hosts Mansfield at 3 p.m. Saturday from Heiges Field House.
