Raider Basketball Travels This Weekend For Final PSAC Crossovers

Shippensburg to face IUP on Friday night, Cal on Saturday night

The Shippensburg University basketball teams return to the court this weekend with a road trip for their final PSAC crossover contests of the 2012-13 season. SU will face IUP on Friday and Cal on Saturday.

The women's matches will tip at 5:30 p.m. on both Friday AND Saturday, with the men's games to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.

WOMEN: SU (8-4, 4-3) once again enters the weekend in a four-way tie for second place in the division, joining Kutztown, West Chester and Bloomsburg. Millersville leads the East with a 5-2 PSAC record. The Raiders have two tough opponents this week. IUP (10-3, 5-2) is ranked No. 16 in the country, and California (9-2, 5-2) has won four out of its last five. Both teams are tied for third place in the Western Division standings and enter the weekend with the top scoring defenses in the conference (IUP - 51.9, Cal - 56.6).

MEN: SU (2-9, 0-7) enters the weekend tied with Bloomsburg for seventh place in the PSAC Eastern Division. IUP (9-2, 5-2) is tied for second in the Western Division standings and ranked No. 21 in the country. The Crimson Hawks scoring defense (57.8) ranks sixth in Division II. California (5-6, 4-3) is tied for fifth in the Western Division with Edinboro but has won eight concecutive meetings over the Raiders dating back to 2005.
