SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team was unable to generate enough scoring chances to keep up with visiting Edinboro on Saturday morning, dropping a 2-0 decision in the PSAC home opener from David See Field.

The Raiders (1-2-1, 0-2 PSAC) nearly kept even with the Fighting Scots (4-0, 2-0) in shots, as Edinboro finished with a 14-13 advantage. Becca Costello put the Scots on the board early when she found the back of the net in the fifth minute.

EU's Jenna Madison extended the lead to 2-0 with an unassisted strike from the right side at the 33rd minute of the first half.

Junior Rachel Hess, sophomore Kate Zech and seniors Katie Leverentz and Molly Sanders all posted shots on goal in the second half but could not connect.

Junior Shelbie Rackley finished with six saves to run her total to 32 in four games so far this season.

Shippensburg travels to Holy Family on Monday for a 4 p.m. contest.
