Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Battle at Lock Haven

Bald Eagles end scoreless tie midway through second half; Rackley makes five saves in net

The Shippensburg University women's soccer team was tied scoreless with Lock Haven midway through the second half on Friday afternoon but a Lock Haven strike in the 64th minute proved to be the difference in a 1-0 road loss from Hubert Jack Stadium.

The Raiders (3-4-3, 1-4-2 PSAC) managed nine shots – including four on goal – in the loss. Lock Haven's (5-3, 2-3) Jenna Hunter connected on the game-winner on a free kick into the upper left ninety.

Junior Ashley Vellucci and sophomore Kate Zech each had two shots. Junior goalkeeper Shelbie Rackley made five saves in net.

Shippensburg continues its four-game road trip on Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest at Slippery Rock.
