Men's and Women's Basketball Host Kutztown Saturday In Final Home Games of Fall Semester

SU will face first PSAC Eastern Division opponent of the season, game will also be broadcast on WSYC-FM (wsyc.org)

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. The Shippensburg University basketball teams will host their final home games of the fall semester on Saturday when PSAC Eastern Division rival Kutztown comes calling for a 1 p.m. women's matchup and a 3 p.m. men's matchup from Heiges Field House.

Live radio coverage of the game will be provided on WSYC-FM 88.7 in Shippensburg, with an audio stream available online at the link posted above.

WOMEN's NOTES:
• Shippensburg earned an 82-65 road win at Clarion and an 87-82 road win at Lock Haven to run its record to 6-1, 2-0 PSAC...it is the first time that the Raiders have beaten PSAC opponents in back-to-back games and also scored 80 or more points in both of the wins since the 2001 PSAC Tournament...SU is 6-1 to start a season for the first time since 2008-09...forward Stephanie Knauer, the PSAC East Freshman of the Week, had a pair of double-doubles this weekend (12 pts., 14 reb. at Clarion; 20 pts., 13 reb. at Lock Haven) and is averaging 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while shooting 51.1 percent...senior Shawna Wert is averaging 14.1 points per game and has a team-high 14 steals...SU's defense is forcing an average of 22 turnovers per game out of its opponents.

MEN's NOTES:
• Shippensburg (2-3, 0-2 PSAC) dropped its PSAC openers on the road at Clarion (48-66) and Lock Haven (87-94, OT) this past weekend...sophomore Reggie Charles scored a career-high 34 points at Lock Haven, the most in a single game for a Raider since Chuck Davis scored 37 points for Shippensburg in a loss at West Chester on Jan. 6, 2007...Charles is averaging 14.4 points per game while freshman Joe Lococo is averaging 14.0 points per game...SU has had freshmen or sophomores as 4 of its 5 starters in every game this season...the Raiders will travel to face Shepherd this Wednesday.
