Men’s Basketball Falls on Road to Clarion in PSAC Opener, 66-48

Lococo leads Raiders with 12 points; Edgar and Charles each add eight

The Shippensburg University men's basketball team suffered a 66-48 defeat at Clarion on Saturday afternoon in its 2012-13 road opener and the PSAC opener for both teams.

Eight different players scored for the Raiders (2-2, 0-1 PSAC), led by 12 points from freshman Joe Lococo and eight points each from junior Dylan Edgar and sophomore Reggie Charles.

Charles recorded a team-high four assists while freshman Tony Ellis added six points and a team-high seven rebounds. Sophomore Sam Pygatt made his first career start and played a career-high 31 minutes, finishing with five points and three rebounds.

Clarion (2-2, 1-0) shot a season-best 44.9 percent from the field as the Golden Eagles' Mike Kromka shot 10-of-14 for a career-high 24 points.

The Raiders continue their weekend PSAC crossover play with a 3 p.m. contest at Lock Haven tomorrow afternoon.
