SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Junior Bre White recorded two goals and an assist and junior Megan Jett scored two first-half goals off the bench as the No. 1-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team finished its regular season in style with a 5-1 Senior Day victory over Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon from Robb Sports Complex.

The Raiders finish the regular season with a 17-1 record (9-1 PSAC West) and enter next week's PSAC playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the West. The No. 2 and 3 seeds in the East – Bloomsburg and Millersville, respectively – will play on Tuesday afternoon in the PSAC quarterfinals. Shippensburg will face the winner of that game in the PSAC Semifinals next Fri., Oct. 26 from West Chester.

After a scoreless start to the game, Seton Hill (7-10, 3-7) opened the scoring first with a goal from Ashley Reid with 10 minutes left in the first half.

After a Shippensburg timeout to regroup, the Raiders scored their first of five consecutive goals – and the first of Megan Jett's two tallies in a span of just over two minutes – when the sophomore redirected a pass from White for her first goal of the season. The Raiders then went up 2-0 just 18 seconds before halftime when Megan Jett scored unassisted with a diving finish off a rebound.

White pushed the Shippensburg lead to 3-1 three minutes into the second half with a shot into the lower left corner off an assist from junior Katie Shoop. Later in the half, White notched her 17th goal of the season on a shot she fired near the top of the circle for a 4-1 Raiders advantage.

Freshman Shelby Anderson finished out the scoring when she scored unassisted off a rebound with five minutes left.

White led Shippensburg with five shots, while senior goalkeeper Ciarra Delost made five saves in the cage and earned the victory.

Before the game, the Raiders celebrated Senior Day by honoring their seven seniors – Delost, Sam Langone, Jamie Levy, Amanda Burridge, Kayla Harshman, Taylor Jones and senior Emily Kohlbus.
