SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Junior Julie Brown and senior Julia Brownrigg each won two events on Tuesday night but the Shippensburg University women's swimming team was edged in a PSAC dual meet with Bloomsburg, 116-87 from Donald N. Miller Pool inside Heiges Field House.

Brown won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.15 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 55 seconds, while Brownrigg won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.63 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.88.

Freshman Rikki Sargent came up just short in the 100-yard breaststroke but did achieve a PSAC cut with a time of 1:10.98. Brown also satisfied the PSAC standard in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.62.

Shippensburg's next dual meet is Friday, November 2 at IUP.
