SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University field hockey team clinched a berth in the 2012 PSAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon from Robb Sports Complex with a 7-2 victory over Western Division opponent Mansfield. It is the 12th consecutive season that the Raiders will play in the postseason.
Shippensburg (15-1, 7-1 PSAC West) scored three times in the final 11:01 of the first half to build a 4-1 advantage entering halftime. Mansfield (5-11, 1-7 PSAC West) connected on a penalty stroke less than three minutes into the second half to make the score 4-2 before the Raiders added three more tallies to cement the win.

Emily Kohlbus both scored two goals, while junior
Bre White contributed three assists. Bender's goals came in the first half, while Kohlbus's came in the second half. Junior
Katie Shoop provided two assists.

Taylor Jones opened the scoring just 82 seconds into the contest.

Kayla Harshman had an assist.

Ciarra Delost and junior
Carenna Neely were each credited with seven saves.
Saturday was also a “Play Pink” and breast cancer awareness game for the Raiders. Donations were collected for the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.
Shippensburg concludes its regular season next week with a 3 p.m. match Wednesday at Mercyhurst and the home Senior Day game at 11 a.m. next Saturday versus Seton Hill.
