MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team was unable to claw back from an early deficit on Wednesday night as the Raiders fell on the road to PSAC Eastern Division rival Millersville, 75-60, from Pucillo Gymnasium.
Senior
Monae Baker led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-15 shooting off the bench. Baker also collected six rebounds and went 7-of-9 from the free-throw stripe.
Junior
Dana Wert scored 14 points and led the Raiders (8-9, 5-8 PSAC) with eight rebounds.

Sophomore
Sarah Strybuc went 4-of-7 from three-point range to finish with 12 points and four rebounds.
Millersville (11-6, 8-5) opened up the game on a fast start, getting out to a 12-0 lead. After facing a deficit as large as 14, down 30-16 exactly halfway through the first half, Shippensburg stormed back. A
Dana Wert three-pointer finished off a 17-6 run to pull within 36-33 with 3:44 remaining in the period.
MU went on a 11-2 run to close out the half, however, and entered the break up 47-35.
Down 52-38 less than three minutes into the second half, SU went on a 13-3 run – with six points coming courtesy of Baker – to pull within 55-51 with 8:11 left.
But that would be as close as the Raiders would get the rest of the way, as over the next 66 seconds, Millersville went on a quick 10-0 run to push the lead back up to 14.
Senior
Lindsay Howard and sophomore
Raediah Lyles each earned their second and third starts, respectively, of the season. They each also played their most extensive minutes on the year, with Lyles logging 29 minutes and Howard registering 16 for the third time.
SU returns home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup against Cheyney from Heiges Field House.
