MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Despite a pair of goals from senior
Katie Pufnock, the No. 2 Shippensburg University field hockey team fell on the road to No. 9 Millersville on Saturday, 3-2.
Despite edging Millersville (2-1) in shots by a 20-8 margin, the Raiders (2-2) could only once find the back of the goal until the game's final minute. Just five minutes into the first half, Pufnock connected on an assist from sophomore

Pufnock scored her second goal of the game off a
Kristina Taylor assist with just 33 seconds left in the contest, narrowing the final margin to 3-2. Millersville's Brittany Troutman, Emily Fullerton and Sarah Bomberger scored three consecutive goals between the SU tallies.
Taylor led the Raiders with six shots on goal, while junior
Ciarra Delost had three saves for the Raiders.
Millersville (2-1) has won two of its three matches this season against Top 10 teams. The Marauders defeated No. 10 Bentley in penalty strokes before losing in strokes to No. 1 Massachusetts-Lowell.
Shippensburg, who has last two consecutive matches for the first time since 2007, hits the road Tuesday for a 4 p.m. clash with Slippery Rock. It will be the PSAC Western Division opener for the Raiders.
